1920’s
The Polacheck family first laid down its roots nine decades ago and has been passed on through many generations. Their story begins in 1921 when Ben Tipp opened a small diamond store in Seattle. Ben and his wife, Lillian, had three daughters, Mitzi, Pearl, and Helen.
Pearl Tipp married Arthur Polacheck and together they relocated to Los Angeles with their two boys, Arthur Jr. and Stephen. In 1949, Arthur Polacheck opened the first Polacheck’s Jewelers location in Glendale. In 1963, Stephen took over the day to day operations, and together, they eventually expanded to 5 locations throughout Southern California.
80’s & 90's
After more than 40 years dedicated to the jewelry business, Arthur decided it was time to spend more time with his family and sold all 5 locations to a public company. But the story doesn’t end there. Stephen, was ready to branch out on his own and with his extensive knowledge of fine jewelry and timepieces, and impeccable customer service, he opened his own Polacheck’s Jewelers store in 1989 in Sherman Oaks.
On November 12, 1998, the Calabasas location opened and eventually became the flagship store for the Polacheck name with Stephen’s son, Brent, now sitting at the helm. Brent is happy to call Calabasas his home.
2000’s
September 2013 served as the celebration for the Grand Re-Opening of the Calabasas location, which included a 2,500 square foot expansion. The whole store was redesigned into a more luxurious and expansive showroom, allowing customers to browse and shop with sophistication and privacy. In addition, unique displays have been designed to help compliment premier luxury brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Panerai, Breitling, IWC, and others. The expansion also increased the space for our onsite master jeweler to make repairs as well as allow us to have two onsite certified watchmakers who are available for questions or repairs of new and pre-owned timepieces.
Today
Polacheck's is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business for over 100 years. We are proud to personally serve our customers in the finest atmosphere of the San Fernando Valley. Although we are a local jewelry store, we are recognized for having a stellar reputation in the industry for exceptional service, staff, and integrity. Understanding our customer’s needs is the true sign of love and passion in the work we do. Our goal has always been to optimize your desires and needs with expert guidance in a non-pressure environment.
